ネットでイングリッシュ（5年生）

オーストラリアの子たちと交流しました。

先日、外国語の授業の一環で、オーストラリアの子たちとのオンライン交流がありました。

5年生の子たちは、2年生の時の国語科「外国の小学校に聞こう」の授業で1度交流していたので今回は2度目の経験でした。

しかし今回は日本語ではなく、学習した英語を使って発表するという授業だったので、子どもたちも少し緊張していたようです。

交流が始まると、相手校の子たちの良い反応のおかげもあり、みんな楽しんで交流することができていました。

 

以下、写真と子どもたちの感想をいくつか掲載します。

わたしたちが2年生のときに交流したことを合わせると今日が2回目のオーストラリアの子たちとの交流でした。今日は英語を伝えることができてよかったです。発表する前は緊張して難しいと思っていたけど、向こうのみんながよく聞いてくれたので安心して発表できました。オーストラリアの学校にはいろいろな見た目の子がいることもわかりました。最近わたしたちが人権学習で勉強したように、みんな個性があって素敵だなと思いました。

Today was our second time interacting with Australian students, including the interaction we had when we were in second grade. I'm glad I was able to speak English today. Before I gave the presentation, I was nervous and thought it would be difficult, but all the Australian students listened carefully, so I was able to present with confidence. I also learned that there are many different types of children in Australian schools. I remembered what we had previously learned in human rights study, and I thought that everyone had their own individuality and was wonderful.

この学習を通して学んだことは、オーストラリアの子はすごいということです。なぜかというと、日本語はすごく難しいのにスラスラ言えていたのですごいなと思いました。そして嬉しかったことは、相手の子は、僕たちが質問や発表をしているときに優しく拍手して対応してくれたことです。とても嬉しかったです。またオーストラリアに行ける機会があったら会いに行きたいです。

What I learned through this study is that Australian students are amazing. I thought it was amazing that even though Japanese is very difficult, they were able to speak it fluently. What made me happy was that the Australian students kindly applauded and responded to us when we asked questions and made presentations. I was very happy. If I have a chance to go to Australia someday, I would like to go see them.

みんな言葉が詰まっても最後まであきらめずに伝えようとしていたのが良かったと思いました。オーストラリアの子たちは、すごく良い反応をしてくれたので話やすかったです。いつか実際に会ってみたくなりました。もっと時間があれば、さらにたくさん質問してみたかったです。これから外国の人ともっと話せるようになって仲良くなりたいです。

I thought it was good that everyone tried to convey their message without giving up until the end even when they were at a loss for words. The Australian students responded really well and it was easy to talk to them. I would like to actually meet them someday. If I had more time, I would have asked more questions. In the future, I would like to be able to talk more with people from other countries and become friends with them.

質問タイムにオーストラリアの子たちが英語で喋っていることを、少しだけだけど聞き取れて理解できたのが嬉しかったです。オーストラリアの子たちが喋っている日本語も聞き取りやすかったです。オーストラリアでも「鬼滅の刃」や「ワンピース」が流行っていて、好きだと言っていたことにびっくりしました。

I was happy that I was able to hear and understand a little bit of what the Australian students were saying in English during question time. It was also easy to understand the Japanese spoken by Australian students. I was surprised to hear that ``Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba'' and ``One Piece'' are popular in Australia, too, and that they said they liked them.

オーストラリアの子たちの日本語がとても上手で、普通に日本人と話している感覚でした。私たちが話した英語も同じように感じてくれていたらいいなと思いました。

The Australian students spoke Japanese very well and it felt like I was talking to Japanese people. I hope they felt the same way about the English we spoke.
